Restoring Projects

When you delete a project in Komment, it’s excluded from future syncs — even if you originally installed Komment on All repositories.

If you'd like to reconnect a previously deleted project, you'll need to reauthorize it from the origin. The exact steps depend on how Komment was initially installed.

Reconnecting a project does not recover previously deleted wiki content — only syncing will resume.

Select Repositories

If you installed Komment on only specific repositories, you'll see your selected projects listed in your GitHub App settings.

Installation on select repos

When you delete a project in Komment, it stops syncing at our end — even if GitHub still shows it as part of your installation. GitHub’s API prohibits third-party applications from disconnecting repos in an installation.

  1. To reconnect a project that was previously deleted via your dashboard, remove the corresponding repository from your GitHub installation.

Remove repo from installation

  1. Click Save to ensure your GitHub installation and Komment are back in sync.

Save changes

  1. Now add the repository again using the Komment installation flow. Your project will then resume synchronizing as before.

All Repositories

If you installed Komment on all your GitHub repositories, you'll see All repositories selected in your app settings.

In this case, you'll need to contact us to have the excluded project manually re-enabled in our database.
